Matt McGill has established himself as one of the country’s premier morning-drive personalities. As host on one of the nation’s only Urban Talk Radio Stations, McGill’s Morning Show is the only locally produced program that targets affluent African-American adults in the third largest broadcast market. He offers substantive conversation mixed with his own brand of observational humor which has made him a fan favorite amongst Chicago’s movers and shakers, including politicians, business and community leaders. The Native Chicagoan attended Santa Monica College, and has been the morning host of WVON since 2009.

6:07 a.m. Matt opens show talking about the NATO Summit and the exposure Chicago is receiving internationally.

6:24 a.m. Matt discusses the projected 150,000 protesters projected to be protesting at the NATO summit.

6:36 a.m. Matt gives the latest on State Rep Derrick Smith and Jesse White forming a third political party for state rep to step down from the Democratic Party.

6:53 a.m. Matt continues the conversation about Secretary State Jesse White wanting to unseat Derrick Smith. Democratic political party convinced that he has committed a felony but the felony is still under investigation but there’s been no evidence.

7:07 a.m. Matt Introduces guest Dr. Melissa Gilliam. She’s professor of Obstetrics /gynecology /Pediatrics and Chief of Family Planning at the University of Chicago.

7:19 a.m. Matt and her open segment discussing teenage pregnancy and unwedded mothers.

7:36 a.m Dr. Melissa gives the statistics that there’s over 400,000 teen mothers in the African American community.

7:53 a.m. As doctor who focuses on Family planning Dr. Melissa talks about the importance of parents having communication with their children when it comes to talking about sex with their children.

8:07 a.m. Matt gives the latest on Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s and mentions that people are not satisfied with him being mayor of this city thus far.

8:24 a.m. Takes callers commenting that Mayor Rahm Emanuel has continued to put this city in a deficit with the city budget.

8:53 a.m. Wraps up show talking about Mayor Rahm Emanuel one year rating.
